A small garden along an everyday route. A place to wait, meet someone or simply sit beneath the trees.
Between passing through and staying.
Between a public transport stop and a shopping centre lies a space usually crossed in a hurry. The project introduces another possibility: stepping aside from the flow and taking a short break.
Clear paved routes connect small seating areas. Trees, planted beds and screens define places to rest beside the everyday pedestrian routes.
Room for a conversation.
Curved timber seats gather people around planting and small tables. Straight benches offer quieter places along the paths. The different arrangements allow visitors to sit together or choose a seat of their own.
A face along the way.
A pale face within an open metal framework becomes the garden’s distinctive landmark. Its smooth surface contrasts with the fine mesh, foliage and shadows.
The sculpture gives a familiar route a point of interest: somewhere to arrange a meeting or stop for a closer look.
A garden within the city.
Low shrubs and flowering plants follow the paths and frame the seating. Pale paving, warm timber and muted violet flowers form a calm palette. Tree canopies cast a changing pattern of shade across the garden.
Even a few minutes can become time for yourself.
